Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4437 Kid Fun Day
THE VFW AUXILIARY IS HOSTING KIDS FUN DAY ON APRIL 6, 2025 FROM 12-3 P.M. THE WALTON COUNTY COMMUNITY BAND WILL BE PLAYING YOUR FAVORITES STARTING AT 1 P.M. ALL PROCEEDS GO TO A LOCAL HIGH-SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS. COME ON OUT TO SUPPORT THE AUXILIARY AND HAVE A FUN FILLED DAY WITH YOU KIDS.


CHELCO Annual Meeting Open House
Spring is in the air, and there is no better way to celebrate than with free food, family fun, live entertainment, and thousands in scholarship and door prize giveaways at CHELCO’s Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 12, at Freeport High School, 12615 Business Highway 331, Freeport, FL 32439.
Each member in attendance will receive a gift bag and bill credit (limit one per household).
Registration begins at 9:00 AM, and there will be plenty to do before the business meeting, including the energy expo, live line safety demonstration, kids’ bucket truck rides*, rides on Touchstone Energy Cooperative’s hot air balloon*, bounce houses, live music by a former contestant on NBC’s The Voice, complimentary breakfast and mobile coffee bar selections.

VFW Cancer Freeze Ride
On 12 April 2025, the VFW Riders Post 4437 is hosting its annual event in support of Cancer Freeze. For those that ride we will have a poker run during the day, then stay for food and Live auction. For those that do not ride, come on out and stay for our Live Auction starting at 3:30 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity Lumber of Love
*Total:** We need over 200 volunteers across three days.
*Friday, April 18th:** 10 volunteers from 8 AM to 12 PM AND 10 volunteers from 1 PM to 4 PM for event setup.
*Saturday, April 19th:** 100 volunteers from 8 AM to 12 PM to help build the floor for the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation's auction tent.
*Sunday, April 27th:** 100 volunteers from 9 AM to 1 PM to dismantle the floor.
Our partnership with the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation is invaluable. They're one of our strongest supporters, and the success of Lumber of Love enables them to continue supporting local nonprofits like ours.
As a special thank you, volunteers over age 21 who complete a 4-hour shift will receive a complimentary ticket to the South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival for the afternoon of Sunday, April 27th.

Doggie EGGstravaganza presented by Dog Harmony
Dog-Harmony presents the 10th annual, canine-only Easter egg hunt and social, Doggie EGGstravaganza, at Grand Boulevard at Sandestin on Friday, April 18, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm!
With a $20 donation (or $25 the day of), leashed canines and their human companions will receive a souvenir bag to collect colorful eggs filled with delicious puppy treats.

Sanctioned by the Professional Cowboy Association (PCA), PCA's biggest superstars will perform feats of athleticism each night! Dog Harmony Interactive Workshop for kids with dogs
Love dogs and want to learn more about how to interact with them? Then this program is for YOU! This workshop is geared for ages 6-12 to teach basic canine body language and signs of stress so kids will interact more safely with dogs. The children will then be given a chance to practice these skills with certified therapy dogs.

Freeport High Open House
We invite all parents and students to attend our inaugural Open House on Thursday March 6 at 5 pm at FHS! All will receive a free fried fish dinner as well as an entry into a drawing for gift cards, gift baskets and more from local businesses!
This year’s open house will focus on boosting student attendance, promoting our CTE programs, enhancing student achievement, and increasing community involvement in our growing school.
A major highlight is our one-of-a-kind Aquadome Research and Training Facility- the only one on the Emerald Coast. The fish for our fish fry this year were raised and studied by our students. These fish not only serve as an educational tool but also fertilize plants in our agricultural program, part of our robust CTE offerings, which include culinary arts and more.

Hops For Hounds
Put on your walking shoes and leash up your furry friends because Hops for Hounds is Back! Join Dog-Harmony for an exciting day at the Fifth Annual Hops for Hounds, happening on Sunday, February 23rd at 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Props Brewery Hammock Bay.
The event will feature a short tail-wagging stroll, followed by a lively after-party celebrating our beloved pets! For $35 per person, you and your furry companion can enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere featuring craft beer, live music, food trucks, and more. Professional photographs of you and your canine will be sponsored by Rescue Animal Photography. Don't miss out on our exclusive event T-shirts—quantities are limited, so be sure to register early! Registrations received by February 10th will guarantee your T-shirt.
Bring your whole family and your four-legged pals for a day of fun while raising funds for Dog-Harmony. All proceeds from Hops for Hounds will help support the pups and programs in our community. Dog Harmony’s services include Animal Assisted Therapy, Children’s Education and Community Education, and Keeping Dogs Out of Shelters. Last year, the dog therapy program touched the lives of over 200 people in local hospitals each week. Dog-Harmony also provided over 240 hours of education and training for families with pups who were at risk of owner surrender situations.
